Pain is a strange feeling.. Everyone experiences it but one thing common to most people who do is that its caused because of a certain person.. not necessarily because of what a person did but even because of what might have happened to someone you know( obviously someone you care about).. So one thing I realize that MOSTLY the cause of pain is that you care for someone and something unpleasant happens that affects in some way you and/or that person .. Another thing I've seen is that if you're in pain one thing u usually feel is that your pain is more than anyone else's. I beg to differ.. completely.. There's always someone who's worse off than you are so self pity does anything but help... in fact it adds to the pain..Avoiding talking about the cause of pain and thinking more about the solution seems like something that appeals more to me so I guess I should ponder more in that perspective.
One thing I've observed about pain is that it's short lived.. mayb prolongued.. but always temporary.. ( yes it can be permanent about an irreversible loss but some things are that way.. else we would be devoid of emotion). We can't really try to be impermeable to pain. If we would we would lack emotion altogether! But what we can try and do is not think about ourselves in that period of pain. In other words we may not be able to get rid of the pain altogether, but we can definitely not make it worse if we try. The secret is not to try and actively forget about it..But to passively forget about it by getting engaged in other stuff. If we just pause and think of the people who care for us rather than the ones we have cared for and give them the well deserved time ( which they always had for us but we never realised..), the pain definitely becomes a less cumbersome phase. Often we might not realise that we might have caused pain to the person who's our shoulder in pain . Instead of self indulging in pain why not make ammends for what's been done and point our feelings in a direction where they get the respect they deserve. All we need to get rid of sadness is to think of the many reasons to be happy and in good time we'll realise which one outweighs which.
